Funeral Set for Oglethorpe Officer

An Oglethorpe police officer died while driving on duty Thursday morning.

Oglethorpe Police Chief Harold Cannon says Richard Angelo Cobb ran off the road and went into a field into two pecan trees. He was 37.

Cobb had prior health problems, and Cannon says it is believed it wasn't the wreck that killed him.

His funeral is set for Monday at noon at Hancock Funeral Home in Americus.

Cobb left behind a wife and daughter.
