Robert Lee "Buddy" Akins, age 68, of 184 Campers Haven Road, Vienna, died Monday, March 4, 2013, at his residence.

Born in Vienna, he was the son of the late Robert Myles Akins and Junnie Chastain Akins. He was the Road Superintendent for Dooly County for 12 years and worked for the City of Vienna for 12 years. He was currently employed by Sanders Farm Service. Buddy was a member of Victory Baptist Church and the Gideons International. He was a good Christian man who loved the Lord and his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and the Florida State Seminoles.

Daughter: Amy Akins Fore (Marty) of Vienna

Son: Robbie Akins (Kim) of Alston

Sister: Norma Conner (Curtis) of Perry

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gaynelle F. Akins.

Funeral services will be held at 5 PM Wednesday, March 6 in Tippettville Baptist Church with interment in Tippettville Cemetery.

The family will greet friends 6 - 8 PM Tuesday, March 5 at the funeral home.
