Autopsy: Two men found in car were shot to death

An autopsy said two men found dead in a burning car in Crawford County last weekend were shot to death.

That's according to J.T. Ricketson, special agent in charge of the GBI's Perry office.

The burning car was found in woods off Marshall Mill Road. He said the autopsy Wednesday found that both men had multiple gunshot wounds and apparently died before the car was set on fire. He said investigators also believe someone killed the men in another location, drove the car was driven to Crawford County and dumped it there.

Ricketson said the two men's identities are unknown. He said one man was black, and the other victim's race is undetermined.

Investigators have possible leads on the men's identities and plan to use dental records and DNA evidence, he said. He also said investigators executed a search warrant in Macon County Wednesday searching for evidence in the case.
