Dooly Reloads for Another Title Run

VIENNA - Coach Jimmy Hughes returns 7 starters on defense minus the front four including former Bobcat turn Auburn Tiger Montravius Adams.

Hughes also boasts his largest senior class with 16 since he arrived 3 years ago. He says speed will be the name of the game this season as they move forward from the shadow of last season and an 11-3 finish and look forward to kickoff Friday night.

Hughes adds, "It was a great year but you know you don't get long to celebrate in this business. We were finished with that after the Christmas holidays were done. Our kids have been working in the weight room and the field since January getting ready to start this thing over again. That group of seniors was a special group of outstanding athletes and good students. But I think this group is ready to claim their own legacy."

The Bobcats host Macon County Friday night at the Grove.

Lady Royals Soccer Ends Home Season On Good Note

Lady Royals Soccer Ends Home Season On Good Note

A different Lady Royals soccer team took field Tuesday for their home finale versus Macon County.  Most of the players missing last week had returned.  There was also a new head coach.  BCHS Athletic Director Benjy Rogers will handle head coaching duties for both teams for their remaining games.  Players were told of the move last Friday.

Ashley Burton had a pair of first half goals, Keisonia Byrd had a goal and assist on a ball knocked in by Macon County, and River Wood scored to make it 5-0 at halftime.  Burton had two more in the second, and both Madison Phelps as well as Shelby Garner scored.

The game clincher came with 44 seconds left from Jacqueline Rambo, senior keeper seeing her first time not in net, as Bleckley won 10-0.
