The Third Annual Title I Community Collaborative Festival is set for Saturday, May 19 at Dooly High School from 9:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Schedule of events:

 

·         9:30 A.M. - 11:30 A.M. - Opening Ceremony

·         11:30 A.M.- 2:30 P.M.- Vendor Exhibits

·         11:45 A.M.- 12 :45 P.M. - Lunch (Complimentary)

·         1:00 P.M. -  2:00  P.M. - Air EVAC

·         2:30 P.M. - 4:00 P.M. - Showcase of Dooly

·         4:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M.-- Alumni/Old Timers vs. DCHS Students’ Basketball Game

Dooly County Raises Over $35K for Relay for Life

Dooly County raised $35,810 with 107 participants for Relay for Life 2012.

That's according to the Relay for Life website.

Dooly County's Relay for LIfe took place April 13 at the Jewel Bowen Memorial Park.

Macon County Raises Over $50K for Relay for Life

Macon County Raises Over $50K for Relay for Life

Macon County raised $52,569 with 233 participants for Relay for Life 2012.

That's according to the Relay for Life website.

Relay For Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. 


Macon County's Relay for LIfe took place April 20 at the Old Gym in Ogelthorpe.

8th Annual Old Book Sale to Feature 90K Books

8th Annual Old Book Sale to Feature 90K Books

The Houston County Friends of the Library Old Book Sale returns to Houston County with 90,000 books in 70 categories.

That's according to a Houston County Friends of the Library news release.

The book sale is May 3-5 at the Georgia National Faigrounds and Agricenter.
Here's the schedule:

Thursday, May 3: 10 a.m.-8 p.m.

  • $5 admission at the door,
  • Friends/Members enter free.

Friday, May 4: 9 a.m. , 8 p.m.

  • Free admission

Saturday, May 5: 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

  • Free admission
  • 50% off books

Turkey Creek Festival Events

Turkey Creek Festival Events

The Turkey Creek Festival waddles into Byromville this Saturday.

You'll be able to find events, music and vendors to check out throughout the day.

Vendors open at 9 a.m. in Groves Park and on Main Street, and the parade starts at 10:00 a.m.

You'll be able to participate in a hulu hoop contest, a basketball shootout and fire truck rides.
