Monday, November 11 marks the official day we as a nation remember our veterans who serve and have served in the Armed Forces.

Marching Band to Hold Chicken-Que and Car Wash

The Macon County Marching Bulldogs, of Montezuma,GA , will be hosting a Chicken-Que and Car Wash Fundraiser Saturday, November 2, 2013 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Crossroads Cafe.

In order to help raise money for a new band booster concession stand, trips, instruments, uniforms, and band camps.  

Each plate will consist of chicken, beans, Cole slaw, bread, dessert, and a drink.  

The support and input from the community is dearly needed and any donation large or small will be greatly appreciated. We look forward to seeing you there.

Perry-Houston Airport Open House Features B-17, B-24

The Perry-Houston County Airport plans a Open House for Saturday, November 2 where visitors will be able to see rare aircraft up close. That's from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. You'll be able to see "Wings of Freedom" B-17 Flying Fortress, B-24 Liberator and a P-51 Mustang will be there as well.

WRHS Hosts 16th Annual Heart of Georgia Band Competition

HOUSTON COUNTY, GA – The Warner Robins High School Band and Band Boosters are pleased to announce that the 16th Annual Heart of Georgia Marching Band Invitational will be held at McConnell-Talbert Stadium on Oct. 26, 2013.  One of the premier marching contests in Georgia, Warner Robins High will host more than 20 bands of all sizes from various schools across the state.  Gates open at 10:00 a.m.  Performances begin at 10:00 a.m. and last until the awards ceremonies at 9:30 p.m.

There will be a variety of music during 20+ half-time shows by bands from across the state, to include our own Warner Robins High Demon Marching Band.  Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students.  Middle school band students who wear their school band shirts are admitted free of charge.  Concessions will be sold, to include funnel cakes, cotton candy and beverages.

Dooly County's Can Do Farms won a Georgia Centennial Family Farm Award for 2013.

The award honors farms that "have contributed to preserving Georgia's agricultural history by maintaining working family farms for more than 100 years."

The time is near for picking out pumpkins and decorating for autumn!

  • Twin Oaks Fun Farm, Monroe County. Features pumpkins and a corn maze. 
  • Our Cotton Pickin' Christmas Tree Farm, Hawkinsville. Check their Facebook page for updates.Pick your own pumpkin from the patch. Also enjoy cider or cocoa on the porch while the kids climb the hay mountain. Open 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
