The Georgia Department of Transportation has scheduled the temporary closure of the rest area near the Pinehurst-Hawkinsville Road Exit until Monday, April 30, a Georgia Department of Transportation news release says.

Vehicles will not be allowed access to the sites.

This construction project is a maintenance resurfacing improvement project located in Dooly County.

The project involves the replacement of the existing concrete pavement and asphalt shoulders along I-75. The project begins at County Road 323/Pinehurst-Hawkinsville Road (mile post 117.2) and ends just north of State Route 230 (mile post 122.7) for a total length of 5.5 miles.

Work began on January 6, 2011 and is estimated to be completed in December 2012.
